What Is Home Insurance
May 5, 2008

Home insurance put simply is an insurance instrument which protects your home and everything inside of your home. If a disaster were to happen and you didn’t have home insurance then the damages to your home and everything inside would be up to you to fix, whereas if you have insurance then you would be covered for all of the damages that happen to your home and belongings.
You need to be careful when buying home insurance and understand that home insurance doesn’t cover everything, and there are other insurances you should have in order to protect your home. Depending on where you live you would want to get flood and earthquake insurance because this is one thing not covered by your home insurance policy.
Your home insurance covers not only the house and belongings but also any injuries that any other person encounters in your home. Meaning that if you didn’t have home insurance and someone were to hurt themselves in your home they could sure you, but if you have home insurance then you’re safe from being sued because your insurance will cover it.
Home insurance like all other forms of insurance have premiums you need to maintain and keep up with, in order to keep the home insurance policy valid. If you miss payments you’re risking having the home insurance policy become void which means if something happened to your house in that time you wouldn’t be covered.
Home insurance is one of the most important insurance policies you will end up buy in your life and without it, you could be left homeless and without any money. Some in things in life are a must and home insurance is definitely one of those things. If you currently own a home and don’t have home insurance then you need to apply as soon as you can and start receiving quotes from different companies. Usually when you buy a house you get home insurance from that point on but it’s definitely worth looking into if you’re unsure, because you need to absolutely make sure your home insurance policy is valid and in good standing.
